Derailment near Sims (CA) on old Shasta Division

On the Channel 12 TV news tonight was a report about a derailment near Sims on the old SP mainline. The derailed car took out part of one end of one of the pin-end truss bridges. Over on trainorders they're saying RIP for the bridge, but it looks to me that repairing the bridge would be MUCH cheaper than replacing it. It would also avoid a lot of environmental stuff regarding the river below.
