During PA era units ran around train. Seats in cars were turned.
I am still unclear about what they did with U28CG, U30CG, and A-B-B F unit powered trainsets but at least the power had to turned.

A curved wye track being too tight for steam refers to gauge vs wheelbase, not radius. MOW does things differently after 50+ years of no steam.

Don't forget Union rules. Greg & crew (Santa Fe) used to park their Alco S4 (with caboose) by the depot to go turn the Amtrak passenger train on the wye, and that train turning was their only assignment.
