I remember the Milwaukee was big on flange greasers. I remember one near St. Maries that
squirted grease through several holes in the head of the rail that was triggered by the
wheels hitting a lever on the outer edge of the rail. After shut down, there were many
barrels of grease left behind in the freighthouse of the Malden depot --- they no doubt aided the fire there that happened many years later.
