"Two Desert Wind trains meet at Lugo, California on the east side of Cajon Pass in February 1981. This was during the brief period where the train operated with F40PH/SDP40F pairs; the SDP40F locomotives had been outfitted with heavy pass-through cables to allow the leading F40PH locomotives to supply head-end power to the passenger cars.
