Re: Status of UP's Sims bridge

Repairs have been completed to the bridge and some unfinished track work is all that remains. UP has started moving trains and light power that direction and Amtrak is selling tickets for the Coast Starlight trips on May 10th.

The line was tentatively scheduled to reopen 1500 hrs today so it appears UP is confident their crews will make it happen. Quite a feat considering what it looked like a couple of weeks ago!
