Don't forget that for the new Brightline trains in Florida, Siemens is producing not only the motive power but also the passenger cars.

Though Siemens is part of a global company, it can certainly also be considered an American manufacturer, with its plant in California, which has also produced large numbers of light rail vehicles for U.S. syste3ms.

One thing I will be interested to see is whether production of the Brightine cars will lead to further passenger car production, perhaps ultimately also for Amtrak. Much of Amtrak's current passenger car fleet is certainly neither new nor state-of-the-art in passenger car design.
