From working 15 years in an office, something I've learned is that mistakes are the norm when new people fill new roles.

I've seen one manager at a public agency make some costly ones too ($ millions), because he wasn't thinking things through. Frustrating? Yeah. Especially since he never consulted anybody.

In other words, welcome to the real world. The reality is that people in charge tend to 'go it alone' and make costly mistakes.

I am encouraged by Agent99's comment, though. Things are improving, which is good!
