Isn't it odd but I find the Santa Clara cars rather attractive. Perhaps it's because they have somewhat old-fashioned, squarish lines. My problem is that I feel that almost everything looked better around the turn of the century than it does today. Modern I find cold and sterile, like a '60's bank building. The Wikipedia article on BART describes its architecture as "brutalist" Right on.

Now when it comes to high speed rail(back on topic by accident)form follows function will definitely rule. At 200+ mph perfect streamlining will be required. I have no problem with futurism that is practically genetic.
