There is always some radiation from all sources in the electromagnetic spectrum, these are not exactly gamma rays, though, And, there has been little in the way of credible epidemiological evidence for electro magnetic fields in these spectrum causing cancer, (gamma rays, by contrast, are well known to blast cells and cause cancers in those high energy spectrum) But, of course, there are plenty of political wannabee's, professional ambulance chasers, and fearmongering hucksters out there pushing this fairy tale line, without any real scientific proof.

I am not surprised by this latest news, as I have said previously, this project was being held as a political "hostage" to political "grandstanding". This is because Congress had already approved this funding, this project already had a signed "full funding agreement" with USDOT, and this attempt to "stop" the funds, was just the usual political "grandstanding" from the idiots in Congress (idiots and Congress may be synonymous though....) pounding their chests in order to pander to the generally ignorant media and voters, with feigned outrage.

This project stands on its own merits, and will have some benefits to Caltrain, with or without any future connection to the still mostly unfunded, mismanaged, and politically dysfunctional CAHSRA project.
