A few years back,there was a supposed plan, maybe even now, to extend the railroad that has been built to serve the growing industrial area in and around Patrick. The idea (or pipe dream) was to build South thru the mountains and come out at Dayton then, using parts of the old C&C/SP ROW, on to Mound House. I could be wrong, but I believe the name Bryan Whipple was discussed.

Draw your own conclusion, but looking at the Patrick area in Google Earth, there has been a lot of track built in that area in recent years.
