I grew up at 1310 W. Chandler Blvd, (between Mariposa & Griffith Park) in Burbank.

Normally, five times a week the old SW would pull its consist west early in the morning, then return late in the afternoon. My greatest memories is on weekends, the train was pulled by an old steam loco. I did not know there was different wheel arrangements at that time, so I can't tell you for sure what the steamer was, but I believe it was likely a 2-6-0. The crews always waived at us as they slowly psssed by.

The last time I visited the area a year ago, the only rail that remained waa from the interchange to Mariposa. I expect they were using it as a 'Y'. Glad to hear they plan to return it to rail again. :)
