Such performance data has ONLY been true in full controlled laboratory testing. In the real world of every-dy railroad, normal duty cycles, the GE 4-stroke has consistently been proven NOT to be more fuel efficient that an EMD turbocharged 567 or 645 or 710 (when compared to comprisable units).
