It was L over V alright. The only thing I didn't like with all those loads on the head end and mtys on the rear, was stretch braking. The old loads would release and the mtys would squat. You had to be careful or it was knuckle or drawbar time. Had to re-think stretch braking but after awhile it started to work fine.

There were 62 increases and decreases between SLO & Santa Barb, 119 miles. You had to stretch brake or beat the conductor to death in the caboose.

I hear know you are not allowed to do that anymore.
