Regarding the Durham, N.C. bridge, a few thoughts from a 30+ year truck driving veteran :
1) Almost all of the " trucks " shown were actually 2 axle " Straight Trucks ". That type of truck, if it is licensed as being Under 26,000 lbs Gross Vehicle Weight, doesn't require a Commercial Drivers License, or the training that goes along with such.
2) At least 50% of the straight trucks shown were daily rentals, ( Penske, Enterprise, etc ), so the STOOPID factor is doubled.
3) Most of the trucks that got stuck, Would have made it through if they had had a better run at it !!!
