I'm not usually one to believe in conspiracy theories, but is it possible Amtrak provides bad order equipment as a way to undermine the success of private excursions? I heard that back East, Amtrak decided to compete against a private excursion's "Fall Foliage" trains, and successfully put them under. It did not sound friendly to me.
So I'm just getting a little suspicious of Amtrak's good faith here. Your thoughts?
