Wasn't the medical issue on Amtrak 502, so that wasn't the fault of the 4449. Listening to the radio traffic, the dispatcher refused to release the 4449 from Union Station due to that issue, which was about 90 minutes of delay.
Can't blame heat-related speed restrictions on 4449, either, as it was an unusually hot heat wave for the entire weekend. Nobody could have predicted that six months ago.
The air conditioning issues were about the only thing that I could place blame on the excursion. I believe that accounted for about 30 minutes of delay.
