I suppose that it's just not that easy to do a dutch drop with a one man crew, using a belt pack, is it......?
These are words used to describe things that are now gone.......or quickly vanishing. Like hand signals, or lantern signals, or even whistle signals, special 'secret" codes, that used to "mean" something, to those who knew what the secrets of that craft. Gestures and motions that could make giant locomotives and even trains move, as though almost by magic.
Now, back when real "hogheads" still ran engines, and you had a pin puller, a field man, and a conductor/foreman, you could still do drops and kicks..... But alas, I fear no more.......
Are you even allowed to "kick" cars anymore?
Soon, even the folks who know what those things mean, will be gone.......
