I'm not sure that Chambers Creek Bridge has an operator; it may be a remote " You have to call in for a lift " kinda deal. Though this bridge was installed to allow sand & gravel barges to pass through, the gravel pit played out long ago ( it's now Chambers Bay Golf Course, site of the 2015 US Open ). There is now only a small pleasure boat marina inland on Chambers Bay. BNSF does give Right of Way to commercial vessels at Ballard Drawbridge just North of Interbay Yard in Seattle. However I have seen the bridge operator there keep the bridge down for impending rail traffic, to the detriment of pleasure boats that have to tie up or circle, some with their canned air horns blowing. I'm not sure the pecking order of Marine -- Rail -- Vehicle traffic extends to pleasure craft.
