There was an article in the Trains Magazine Railroad news about UP plans on reopening the Mococo Line, a 52 mile former SP line. The line would link UP's Oakland-Sacramento Martinez Subdivision at Martinez with its Central Valley route at Lathrop, south of Stockton. SP closed the line about 20 years ago, UP stores cars on a portion of the line but the line has been maintained to Class 1 track stds ie 10mph and no abandonment proceedings have occurred.I live out of country but the only track I can finf in Rand McNally that is approx 52 miles long goes from Niles thru Pleasanton,Livermore, then splits thru Tracey and Lyoth to Lathrop.Like I said I live out of country so I could be barking up the wrong tree.
