Ok I got it all figured out guys! You are all right Ed Dickens ego would not allow 4449 and her fine crew to be involved. So here is what will happen:

844 will travel to Sacramento to represent SP/CPRR, taking a train from there eastward.
4014 will travel from Omaha with a fine train of UP coaches westward.
They will both meet in Utah.

Of course this means that HRH Prince Edward Dickens will have to clone himself as he is the only qualified steam locomotive engineer for UP....
