Running them both on the East end of the train allows both of them to be chartered when the train runs out of Sunol. The platform at Sunol is not long enough to safely board passengers when the caboose is on the West end.

That stupid car has flush toilets, running water and a snack bar. Yes, it could use a paint job, but that requires money and someone to take on the task.
What's wrong with the SP bay window caboose in Niles?
It's not set up for general public passenger charters. Most people would rather ride in a cupola than a bay window, pretty obvious. Most of the passengers are not foamers wanting a super realistic experience.
They do what they want, regardless of anyone else's opinion...
Obviously that's the privilege that comes with being in charge of the operation. Maybe if you got involved and worked your way up, (for no compensation) you could get things done your way. I guess it's easier to just sit in front of your keyboard and slam those that do the real work.
And don't get me started on "Just Sayin". You slam then entire organization and everyone in it just because you have personal issues with a couple of individuals. Nice work.
