I remember a story a retired Amtrak Conductor told me
The coldest he work was #6 in Ohaha at 54 below
He had to take the bag car and put it on the back of the consist
and what would have taken maybe 20 minutes took an hour because he had to go into
the engine room of the F40 to thaw out every few minutes
Even though he thought he had full winter gear, the wind just cut right through it
