The Vegas connection is supposed to be at Palmdale, and it's not CAHSR. It's XpressWest formerly Desert Xpress. The environmental work for VV-PMD is being done by Caltrans and LA Metro for a new Hwy 138 with extra r/w for the HSR line; VV-LV is already environmentally cleared but funding is busted since the federal loan for the VV-LV segment was blocked.
