Project cost: $7 billion to $35 billion
The Space Launch System (SLS) is an American Space Shuttle-derived heavy expendable launch vehicle. It is part of NASA's deep space exploration plans including a manned mission to Mars .

Project cost: $64 billion
California High-Speed Rail will connect the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center in Anaheim and Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles with the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco via the Central Valley with speeds up to 220 miles per hour , providing a "one-seat ride" for the trip in 2 hours and 40 minutes.

$35 billion to put man on Mars.

$68 billion to connect two California points by rail.

Both paid by tax money.

Why would space exploration be cheaper than old rail tech on earth?
