New Amtrak CEO is former Delta Airlines CEO: [www.bloomberg.com] (and several others that you saw last month.

First thing he does is propose reducing seat pitch on Amtrak (i.e. cram more seats into the cars): [www.reuters.com]

Who couldn't see that one coming?!

After all, one of the selling points of Amtrak is its seat comfort compared to airlines: [www.usatoday.com]

Senator Schumer (D, so no real influence) says Amtrak should leave this alone: [gothamist.com]

But of course there's no extra money for Amtrak, anyway. The opposite if you go by the proposed Trump budget: [www.washingtonpost.com]

So where do things go from here? Fun to watch the politicians run in circles.
