Metrolink's primary purpose is to provide commuter rail service, with trains being scheduled to do that.

The trip you've described goes against the normal commute flow for those times of day, so you should not expect to have convenient connections.

That said, the times you've quoted don't seem unreasonable, especially compared to the drive time.

Your complaint is similar to those who booked passage on a long-distance Amtrak train, then complain about how long it took.

My advice: apply the YAHOO principle: You Always Have Other Options.
