if only that were true! The Geary corridor has the second highest bus ridership in the US (only behind Second Avenue in Manhattan) and should have gotten a subway decades ago. Attempts by Muni to sell the Richmond 'hood on rail have failed time and again. BRT is insufficient, and as such, mostly a waste, but if you can't force a subway, how else do you propose properly serving the market?
If you don't like crush load rush hour transit, don't live in an urban area; some of us are willing to endure the minor inconvenience of standing a few minutes in return for being able to access multiple sorts of work, entertainment, recreation venues without having to drive long distances. There is a reason museums are in cities and not located in disant rural areas.
