In years past, the Rollins Road area business park in north Burlingame was a fairly substantial rail served area. The on line SPINS book shows over two dozen rail served customers. The rails into this area split off from the main across from the Millbrae depot, where the BART tail tracks exist today.

For anyone who can remember the old days on the San Francisco peninsula, I am curious about some of the SP facilities and the operations of this area.

There used to be a SP section or foremans house (?) aross the main from the depot. What was this, why did they need a house there, when there is housing in the area? Was it a "Common Standard" plan, and I am guessing that it was demolished when the moved the depot south to widen Millbrae Ave.

Was the Millbrae Depot a "Common Standard" plan? There appears to have been living quarters on the second floor, again, why, who lived there, and when did that end?

Did the industrial park get served from Bayshore or Santa Clara, or were trains pre-blocked from somewhere? There are pictures from the 1960s and 70s of an RS-32 parked across from the depot, did the SP station a locomotive in Millbrae to serve this area, or did it just layover from somewhere else (like Bayshore) while serving other parts (Crocker/Brisbane industrial part, Oyster Point industrial park, South SF, etc) of the peninsula?

I am assuming that the primary traffic into this area would have been boxcars and RBLs, does anyone know more about the inbound/outbound traffic of these customers?
