I like 4-4-0's also, the classic line styling, and later in the series, their speed.

What doomed this locomotive for main line traffic was the lack of speed, and lack of power to pull larger loads and longer trains. As to the antlers and paint, it was the times. Also, when an engineer was assigned a loco, he ran that loco for a long time. Most are a reflection of what was for the times, personality of the engineer.
