It was just the local paper's web poll. What surprised me was the high level of negative feeling, which is not disinformation. Same thing is apparent in the Marin IJ's letters to the editor - a generalized "anti" feeling characterized by distrust. One letter writer called it a "wine train", whereas it is a commuter doodlebug.

My take on this is that the electorate is not in a happy mood and all the money propositions could have a hard time passing.

It is hard to determine whether the SMART critics don't like the plan or they just don't like trains. But they seem to love BART, which is understandable since BART is the train that tried ever so hard not to be a train. It designers even tried to call it a "duorail" Maybe if the money they wasted on broad gauge had been spent on researching the causes of corrugation they wouldn't have such a noisy operation.
