Perhaps it could be configured to tie into the MU equipment to allow ANY power from other roads to take advantage of the overhead , OR...perhaps a cabless electric locomotive that can be controlled with the diesels cab in electric territory.

PRR used 11kv 25hz overhead and onboard transformers and rectifiers to get 600v DC for the traction motors. This allowed a brief period of overload for extra power on starts and heavy grades. 25kv 60hz power would be easier to obtain with todays modern power grid.
