Same lead below the now "old" bridge, where we used to pull and spot about 40 or so carloads at a time of wheat for Soviet ships back when....... The grain, lumber, steel, palm oil, coconut oil "bulk commodities" came into the docks, located there, way back then.
Long Beach was a fun place to work, the new piers with vast auto and container yards, the old hidden PE yards, old PE mains with trolley poles still in place, leads from everywhere to everywhere, the "bridge" over to Long Beach, scrap yards, boat yards, big ships, lousy restaurants and seamy bars, but fun, never boring.
