Nimby nonsense at its very best.....Totally insane arguments based on no coherent logic or identifiable "harm" that would be done by this proposed project. It just seemed to be folks expressing jealousy at those "bad elements" that the project would draw into the City, a bunch of folks unable to cope with change..... At least for now, the "adults" in town seem to have won this round.

Frankly, the last time I was there, just a couple of years ago, downtown Carpinteria, except for the shops and that brewery they put in, at the old packing shed, was pretty much of a run down armpit as far as business, dining, and tourism went, with a real nice beach, that the train stops at.
