Passenger Stations in Grand Junction, Colorado

I was on the Amtrak California Zephyr in July. I saw that there are two (out-of-use) passenger stations right next to each other on the UP (DRGW) main line. Why are there two? And is one called "Union Station"? I thought the D&RGW was the only game in town.
