Yeah and how aren't idiots wearing earbuds getting killed, horrify their poor families, inconveniencing the passengers, costing the agency and emergency responders a lot of money being idiots. I know many are troubled, too. I've been involved n the death of someone who was clearly impaired when I worked for SP, and had no business being on the ROW, or anywhere else for that matter, and it was a tragedy.

I am not unsympathetic to those who are lost, but too many of theses are a result of just plain stupid, or stupid beliefs that going out this way is the best way to do it, for whatever reason. And, while I feel sorry for them, and have worked personally to fund miles of railroad fencing, signage, and access control for ROW's, that after all of that I'm admittedly callous to this kind of useless and senseless waste of life be it intentional or accidental, and the real costs it imposes on all of the rest of us, both economically and spiritually, to their kin and friends, on those who had to witness it, and society.

So what was the cause of this one?
