Residents of Santa Cruz, CA take note. Not everyone likes a "world class" bike trail.

An old railroad right-of-way through the city of Vancouver, BC was recently paved for bikers. Some residents are very sad about this development because the new asphalt trail destroyed what used to be a rustic, peaceful walking path lined with greenery and informal gardens. The new trail by comparison looks like an ugly stretch of highway.

The city cynically calls the new paved trail the "Arbutus Greenway." It really should be called the Arbutus Bike Highway.
