UP/LA&SL trains from Vegas and Salt Lake come off the UP onto the BNSF at Yermo and up to the UP-SP merger always got off ATSF at Riverside and went to East Yard or Long Beach via UP. The connector allows UP trains from Vegas to go to West Colton for classification instead of East Yard.
