The first item in this evening's edition of Transit News. Thanks, Larry
When the Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee folded in the late 40s, Chicago Transit Authority bought their line from Dempster to the town of Skokie. (The North Shore operated into the Loop on CTA's third rail system)
CTA added poles to a few of their cars and built a high platform station at Skokie, and were in business in a few days. CTA's shops are also located on this line. Cars are moved to and from the shops by "dual-mode" switchers.
Following long-standing CTA practice (thanks to George Krambles), their cars have forward facing seats at both ends.
Both airports are served by CTA, so enjoy!!!
