Engine Washing

The damn plumbers here need to know how much actual water is needed to wash an engine stem to stern, and at what pressure and speed of the wash! (apparently this is a real question)
They are setting the new wash up and the design is (lets just say IKEA instructions were better).
I need an answere real quick, anyone there done this before?
Appreciated.
