Make that a BIG bucket of money !!! The box lunches we paid Ten Bucks apiece for, were worth half that, as was our dinner. Of course we had few other options in early fall ( after labor Day ), as everything else along Highway 2 was already closed for the season. And don't bother them with special room requests. The missus specifically asked for a room facing the tracks; upon arrival we found out we had been bumped to the other side of the building for a wedding party from Kalispell. ( This was before the change in management though. )
OTOH, the trip out & back on The Empire Builder was good, and I was surprised to find they had 2 rental cars available, by special arrangement with Enterprise in Kalispell. Made for a better day railfanning Marias Pass, including driving up to the snowshed at Blacktail.
