I went to Metolius, OR, to watch the eclipse (8/21). Metolius is right on the Oregon Trunk, now BNSF. I wasn't closely watching the trains but I do recall seeing a couple of trains of baretables going south on the Oregon Trunk, with BNSF locomotives. By the way, if you're looking for a really nice small town with an active railroad, Metolius was very hospitable to us eclipse-watchers.
