I guess the plan to extend the Sacramento Southern down to the Walnut Grove area is not dead yet

This is from the fact sheet about the railroad from CSRM's website
29. The Old Sacramento State Historic Park’s approved General Plan makes way for the
Museum’s Sacramento Southern Railroad in the future to offer exciting new adventures.
A long term vision is to one day offer wildlife viewing trains to the Delta and Stone Lakes
National Wildlife Refuge as well.
