SP had a long string of fire cars at Eugene in years past; in the summer they'd be dispersed throughout the system. Two cars would be parked in McMinnville - one with a water pump on top, the other an interconnected tankcar. But never saw them used. W&P/P&W never used fire cars.
Some of the SP cars in later years were D&RGW narrow gauge tankcars mounted on flatcars.
Not sure if UP has any of this equipment left, or where it is.
