Shortline San Joaquin Valley Railroad operates the line from Bakersfield that splits at Gosford with one branch going to Buttonwillow and the other branch that heads out towards Old River, and turns to the west servicing several oil facilities, cotton and feed grain operations. This branch used to continue to Taft but the section from Taft back out to Synagro & the oil transfer facility was torn out a number of years ago.
