It would make a lot of sense for UP to include a steam locomotive that represents the Central Pacific/Southern Pacific side for this occasion and also be appropriate from a historical stand point of the route too. I could see the SP 4449 being the most likely non-UP owned canadite with Doyle McCormack's leadership and the crews professional track record on many different railroads including the UP. The 4449 is no stranger to UP management and I am sure they are well aware of the 49 crews impressive track record. It only takes the right powers that be in Omaha to say they want this to happen. Southern Pacific is today's Union Pacific Railroad story....all one big family now.
