The City of Santa Cruz Planning Commission voted unanimously last night to accept the Mitigated Negative Declaration finding that there are no serious environmental impacts in constructing Coastal Rail Trail Segment 7, Phase One, which builds a 12-16 foot wide trail on the coastal side of the tracks from Natural Bridges Drive to La Barranca Park.
Most of the trail will be 16 feet wide.
Public comment was overwhelmingly in support of moving ahead with construction as envisioned of the rail with trail design, a true multimodal solution that provides a trail soon and transit in the future.
