Please explain how these cities' Democrat policies have enabled rats, bed bugs, fleas and roaches to thrive and what Republicans would have done differently and provide links to non-ideological sources to support your claim.

I do not live in any of these cities, but I do live in a medium-sized city. In a place where I previously lived, there were a few rats. The rats were likely attracted the dumpsters near and next to my unit which was also there for two apartment complexes. Don't know how dumpsters can be made rat proof and still accessible for the apartments' residents and convenient for garbage trucks to haul away the trash. Certainly has nothing to do with partisan politics.

Here's a thought - how about understanding that the cities you listed have among the highest housing costs in the US. Some of that is due to higher taxes. But its mostly due to demand. If the cities you listed were so terrible, there would be much less demand for housing and housing costs would be a lot less.

I celebrated my birthday last week in Chicago. Had a great time. Met up with a friend who lives along the lake. His place is very nice.

Lastly, bringing this thread back to trains, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland and San
Francisco are all served by extensive rail transit systems. I've had enjoyable experiences riding public transportation in all of these cities.
