The Central Pacific was leased to the Southern Pacific early on and was not merged into the Southern Pacific until 1958 or 1959. It should be noted that while the Southern Pacific gained control of the SSW in the early 1930's, it was not until after 1990 that it became a wholly owned subsidiary. I know of two individuals that had some shares of SSW stock in 1990. By that time the value of that stock was considerable.
