Yeah, that's the post I meant. Good job--on multiple levels. I would've offered kudos directly on RYPN but I'm no longer a member.
I also concur with your comment about the best stories being somewhat "untold". My dad's cousin is the oldest surviving railroader around here (he'll be 103 in January). He was a conductor but worked the head end a lot when he was still a brakeman. Some of his stories, and those my dad told me before he passed away, are real eye openers.
Who would've guessed that coal-fired locomotives and old wooden cabooses were also fueled by significant amounts of alcohol?
