Occasionally the UP Fife-Kent, WA turn will operate with a six axle unit rather than a 4 axle with ditch lights on both ends. When this is the case, the train operates at reduced speed when running long hood forward because of the lack of ditch lights. I'm sure the crew and dispatchers cuss the power desk when this is the case. Plus I'm sure switching with a desktop controlled SD70M isn't as easy as a GP39-2
